A lot of people like to put outfits together around a theme. One of my first outfits for my Lore-master was a dingy wizard outfit in the vein of Fellowship of the Ring-era Gandalf. The Fall Festival had a slew of excellent capes and hats as well, and I’ve incorporated many of them into snazzy-looking outfits. One of the end rewards for the Winter Festival quest chain was a pair of fingerless gloves, which has since become one of my favorite costume pieces.

This is the Homemade Operation Game Costume my friend Brett and his wife Megan made this year that won our local contest. Burn Zombie Burn is the game of the week, though there’s plenty of DLC to pick up as well. With the robes, the yellow was fixed, so I had to figure out what worked well with that color (the color wheel is usually helpful in this regard). You’ve still got tanks, healers, and (crowd-)controllers, but all three archetypes are capable of doing significant DPS, and you can switch between that and your primary role with a key press provided you’re at least level 10 and out of combat. It’s a challenge to find a partner though, because you need to find someone at your level and who wants to cosplay the same series as you. Change requires sacrifices, however, so I am even more interested than before to see if the removal of some of the series’ staples will have been worth it. Each of the three games in the series is 50% off, including the collection for $17.50. There are plenty more available, including a few I picked up like Two Worlds II, and a few I’ve passed on.
